Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 10, 2026

This policy covers TrueHue for iPhone (App Store) and TrueHue for Android (Google Play, package com.bdsalesinc.truehue), published by Buckshot Digital Sales Inc. TrueHue creates personal color-season readings from a selfie. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell data. The two platforms use different on-device face-analysis frameworks, and the Android framework sends limited technical diagnostics to Google as described below.

Camera images and face analysis

When you start an analysis, you can take a selfie with the front camera or choose an existing image. Image analysis happens on your device only. The app looks for one face, samples visible skin, hair, and eye colors, and uses those colors to create a personal palette. The face-detection frameworks locate facial features; they do not identify who you are. TrueHue does not create a face-recognition template. Your photos are never uploaded, and TrueHue does not send them to an AI service.

On iPhone, TrueHue uses Apple's on-device Vision framework. On Android, TrueHue uses Google ML Kit Face Detection with a bundled model that runs on your device.

On Android, the camera flow temporarily writes a capture to TrueHue's private app cache so the image can be read for analysis. The app deletes that temporary file after analysis completes or fails. If the process is interrupted before cleanup, a temporary file may remain in the private cache until Android clears it or you clear TrueHue's app storage. Images you import use the Android system Photo Picker, which needs no storage permission; they are read for analysis and are not copied into TrueHue's saved results. Only the resulting color results are saved on your device.

Google ML Kit diagnostics on Android

Google ML Kit Face Detection processes the image and returns face features on your device. Google states that ML Kit does not send the input image or detector result to Google. The Android ML Kit SDK may send anonymous diagnostics and usage data to Google over HTTPS. This can include device and Android-version information, the app package and version, a per-installation identifier that is not intended to identify a person or physical device, processing-performance metrics, API configuration, input and output sizes, feature version, event type, and error codes. Google uses these metrics for diagnostics and usage analytics and says this data is not transferred to third parties.

ML Kit may also contact Google servers for bug fixes, updated models, and hardware-compatibility information. These SDK communications are separate from the selfie content, which stays on-device. See Google's ML Kit data-disclosure details, ML Kit terms and privacy notes, and Google Privacy Policy.

Android permissions

No storage, contacts, location, or microphone permission is requested.

What TrueHue stores

Your saved readings, palette details, favorites, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. TrueHue does not keep your original photo in your gallery or in an online account.

On iPhone, results stay on the device. TrueHue does not use iCloud or CloudKit, so results are not synced to other devices. On Android, system backup is disabled (allowBackup is false), so results are not backed up to Google or restored from a Google backup. We do not receive your locally stored readings.

The Android home screen widget shows your latest result using on-device data only.

Export and deleting your data

You can export your readings from Settings. On Android, Settings includes Delete all my data, which erases all saved readings and profiles on the device. Uninstalling TrueHue also removes them. On iPhone, delete the app to remove its local data. There is no TrueHue account or server-side reading store to delete.

Purchases

TrueHue Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase with no subscription or recurring charge. On iPhone, Apple processes the purchase through your App Store account. On Android, Google Play Billing processes it through your Google account, and the Play Billing Library sends purchase diagnostics to Google. TrueHue receives only the purchase status needed to unlock Pro; we receive no payment details. Apple and Google handle payment information under their own terms and privacy policies. You can restore your purchase in Settings on the platform where you bought it. iPhone and Android purchases are separate (App Store versus Google Play) and do not transfer between platforms.
